Delete your ExtraRep account
You can permanently delete your ExtraRep account and all your data at any time, directly from inside the app. There is no waiting period and no fee.
Important. Deletion is irreversible. Once you confirm, every workout, every set, and every preference tied to your account is removed immediately from our servers. There is no "undo" or recovery window.
How to delete from inside the app
- Open ExtraRep on your phone.
- Tap Profile (bottom-right tab).
- Tap Account.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
-
Type
DELETEexactly to confirm you understand the consequences. - Re-enter your password. If you signed in with Google and have never set a password, re-enter your email address instead.
- Tap Delete my account, then confirm in the dialog that appears.
Within a few seconds you will see a confirmation that the account has been deleted, and you will be signed out automatically.
What gets deleted
The following are removed from our servers immediately:
- Your account record (email, password hash, username)
- Every workout you have logged, including all sets, weights, reps, and notes
- Any Google sign-in links connected to your account
- Pending email-verification challenges
- Your body-measurement history (every check-in stored with your account)
- Your saved workout routines (templates synced to your account)
- Your profile / onboarding row (units, goal, optional gender and date of birth, display name, bio, profile link, starting height and weight)
The following local data is wiped from your phone in the same step:
- Your saved login token
- Cached copies of profile, measurements, and routines kept on the device for offline speed
- Other app preferences stored only on the phone (for example, which day your training week starts in charts)
- Workout summary photos saved by the app
What is retained, and why
To be fully transparent, a small amount of data may persist briefly for technical reasons:
- Custom exercises you created. If you created custom exercise definitions (e.g. "Pause Squat — 3s") and other users included them in their workout history, the exercise rows stay anonymously. The "created by" field is set to NULL so nothing is attributable to you. This protects other users' workout history from breaking.
- Database recovery history. Our database provider (Neon) keeps a continuous point-in-time recovery history of the last 6 hours as standard disaster-recovery practice on our current plan. Your deleted data may persist in that recovery window until it rolls off. After 6 hours, the history is gone permanently. We never restore from this history for individual user data — only in the event of a major site-wide failure.
- Operational logs. Web server access logs may contain timestamps of requests but no identifiable account data. These logs are rotated weekly.
- Crash reports (Sentry). If your app ever reported a crash, the crash data is held by Sentry (our error tracking provider) for 90 days. Crash reports do not contain email addresses, names, or any personal account data — only anonymous device model, OS version, and stack trace.
Deleting only some of your data (without deleting your account)
You do not have to delete your entire account to remove specific items. The App lets you delete data piece by piece, and you can also email us for bulk partial-deletion requests.
Delete individual items inside the App
- A single workout — open the Workouts tab, long-press the workout you want to remove, and confirm Delete. Every set, weight, rep, and note inside that workout is removed from our servers immediately.
- A single body-measurement check-in — open the Measurements tab, long-press the check-in row, and confirm Delete. The row is removed from our servers immediately; charts recalculate to exclude it.
- A single saved routine — open the Routines screen, long-press the routine, and confirm Delete. The routine and its configured exercises and sets are removed from our servers immediately.
- A custom exercise you created — if no other user has used the exercise, you can delete it from the exercise picker (long-press → Delete). If another user has used it, the exercise row remains in the shared database (so their workout history does not break) but you can still rename or hide it from your own picker.
- Profile fields — open Profile → Edit profile to clear your display name, bio, profile link, gender, date of birth, starting height, or starting weight. Changes save immediately.
- Profile picture or workout photos — these are stored only on your device. Delete them by removing the image from your phone's gallery, or by replacing / removing the picture from Profile → Edit profile and the relevant workout's photo slot.
Bulk partial deletion by email
For broader deletions — for example "delete every workout before 2024" or "delete all body-measurement check-ins" — email extra-rep@outlook.com from the address on your account. Use the subject line "Partial data deletion request" and describe what you want removed. We verify ownership and process the request within 7 business days. This is the same channel you would use for a GDPR / UK GDPR right-to-erasure or right-to-rectification request.
What may persist briefly after partial deletion
Once you delete an item using either path above, it is removed from our live database immediately. The same brief retention windows described in "What is retained, and why" above apply: database point-in-time recovery history rolls off within 6 hours; operational logs rotated weekly; Sentry crash reports held by Sentry for 90 days; community-shared custom exercises remain anonymously with the "created by" link severed.
Cannot sign in to delete from the App?
If you have lost access to your account (forgotten password, lost phone, etc.) and cannot reach the in-app deletion flow, email us at extra-rep@outlook.com from the email address you signed up with. Include the subject line "Account deletion request". We will verify ownership and process the deletion within 7 business days.
